Integrated network specialist Arrowdawn has secured a £100,000 contract to provide a new communications system to a leading oil and gas services company.
Aberdeen-based Arrowdawn will install and maintain a 200 user Internet Protocol (IP) telephony system at the UK bases of mechanical engineering services provider EnerMech.
Award-winning Arrowdawn will also support the installation of the new system in EnerMech’s international network of offices in key energy provinces.
Managing Director Gordon Adie said: “This is a significant win for Arrowdawn. It both consolidates our position in the energy services market and underlines our credentials in terms of supporting fast-growing businesses.
“Our track record, product offering and delivery capabilities proved key in winning an award from a company that is committed to using the best possible ancillary services to support its client operations.
“We are providing an effective solution that can be quickly and easily extended into new parts of a business: a key requirement for a rapidly-growing company like EnerMech.”
The Cisco system will initially be installed at EnerMech’s two UK locations – its headquarters in Aberdeen and regional office at Great Yarmouth.
Stu Gerrard, IT Manager of EnerMech, said: “We are pleased to be working with Arrowdawn, who have demonstrated their technical expertise along with great service and support. We are looking forward to having them as our partner as we expand our business globally.”
Arrowdawn supplies IP telephony systems and network infrastructure solutions to local, national and international companies and works across a range of industry sectors including energy, human resources and property.
The Cisco Specialist was recently awarded a contract by the air traffic control service NATS, formerly National Air Traffic Services, to provide network support for a surveillance system that covers areas in the North Sea previously beyond the range of land-based radar.
Arrowdawn deals with any technical issues that arise in relation to the offshore Cisco network, establishing the cause and either carrying out remedial work directly or liaising with third parties – such as telecoms providers or platform network teams – to resolve the problem.
The company has also completed a 14-month process control network project for a major operator to enhance safety and efficiency.
Arrowdawn, which provides Cisco products, is the Cisco Scottish Commercial Partner of the Year in 2010.
Arrowdawn was named as a finalist in the Small IT Supplier of the Year category of the UK IT Industry Awards 2010, organised by BCS – the chartered institute of IT. The company was also shortlisted for the Converged Reseller of the Year award at the CRN Channel Awards 2010.
